Hidden deep, very deep, within one of thousands of hidden canyons, the Sinagua lived within the sharp contrasts of red rock and lush green vegetation. It is impossible to see this place until you are upon it. And there it is.

Embedded in this rock is the hand that will remain forever. What could have happened to embed this hand in that rock? A story that we will never know.

 

 Ancient art covers the red rocks telling the stories of the animals and of the people. I can study these all day, and wonder about the hands that placed the images on to the soft tones of the rock canvas.
