In
1540 Francisco Vaques de Coronado's army visited Acoma and became
the first white man to enter Sky City. The oldest continuously inhabited
community in the United States, Acoma is an ancient, sacred place.
For a thousand years, these spiritual people have made their home on a
mesa jutting 300 feet above the valley floor.
